Zelf, a leading social media analytics company that uses advanced proprietary AI technology to analyze TikTok videos, today released findings of its latest Zelf Political Report, revealing that total content on the platform following the vice presidential debate amassed 291 million views, 1.5 billion fewer than the Harris-Trump debate held in September.
The Zelf analysis looked at 4,169 videos on TikTok in the day following the vice presidential debate.
Gun rights/control represented 20% of issue-specific content on TikTok related to the debate followed by free and fair elections with 12%, immigration with 11%, and taxes/the economy with 10%.
“It’s expected that content around the Harris-Trump debate would get more views than the vice presidential debate,” said Pepijn van Kesteren, CEO and co-founder of Zelf. “However, 1.5 billion is a massive and surprising difference.”
